Intriguing and bewitching, the depth of this lovely, lithe 12.5% ‘liqueur de cerise’ is stunning… moving West and away from the pure framboise of Lowrey (located almost at the American border). Here we have the corrupt spiced/anis-inflected maraschino/ savoury complexity of a ‘Grand Vin de Vineland’ on the Twenty-Mile Bench. If not quite yet, the sanguine quality of both Wismer-Parkes on redder soil just 20 metres away, here we sense a depth and ‘crunchy’ red saline limestone fruit that exemplifies ageability and elegance. If it wasn’t Pinot Noir, because of the elegant Kirsch-like notes, we’d say: ‘Ça Morgonne, quoi!?’
